LLDP Commence 5-Days Technical Start-Up Workshop to Kick-Start Project Implementation.
Atlantic Lumely Hotel – Freetown, 26 January, 2026 – The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security commenced Technical Start-Up Workshop for the Livestock and Livelihoods Development Project (LLDP). Financed by International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), OFID, HEIFER International and the Government of Sierra Leone.
Speaking on behalf of LLDP, the Project Coordinator, Mr. Tejan Koroma, welcomed the IsDB team and underscored the purpose of the Technical Start-Up Workshop. Noting that the workshop aims to review the project objectives, discuss Ministry technical support to the Project Management Unit (PMU), aligns with the Feed Salone initiative and the Medium-Term National Development Plan ( MTNDP). Resulting into detailed project document and seamless implementation at the end of the event
Representing RHD, Mr. Sabiu Auwal described the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), as a multilateral development bank (MDB) dedicated to improving lives by promoting social and economic development in its member countries including the Muslim communities across worldwide.
Mr. Sabiu also provided a brief summary of the Livestock and Livelihoods Fund (LLF). He explained that the LLF is a co-financier with the Islamic Development Bank and is supported by several partners, including the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, the Gates Foundation, the Islamic Development Bank, the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, and the Qatar Fund for Development.
The goal of the LLF is to lift the poorest populations out of poverty across 33 IsDB member countries by addressing nine Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It does this by providing accessible and sustainable funding to ensure communities have access to the essential building blocks of prosperity: primary healthcare, productive agriculture, and social infrastructure.
