-President Julius Maada Bio has officially commissioned the expansion of the Sierra Leone Flour Mill Limited at Cline Town in Freetown, marking a significant milestone in the country\u2019s drive toward economic diversification and industrial value addition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The commissioning ceremony brought together senior government officials and private sector stakeholders, including the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Dr. Henry Musa Kpaka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During his Keynote address, President Bio stated that the investment reflects growing investor confidence in Sierra Leone\u2019s economy and underscores the government\u2019s commitment to transforming locally sourced raw materials into finished products. He noted that such initiatives are critical to strengthening domestic production capacity and reducing import dependency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Valued at over $50 million, the project aligns with the government\u2019s Feed Salone Initiative, which prioritizes private sector-led agricultural transformation and the enhancement of food security, particularly for widely consumed staples such as bread and other wheat-based products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chairman of Sierra Leone Flour Mill Limited, Alhaji Amadu Juldeh Sowe, emphasized that the expansion would not have been possible without strong presidential support.
